It is not the first time in my career I have been confronted with leadership that I am not sure we are on the same page. I am curious what techniques you or anyone would recommend for leading up the chain of command especially when there are obvious differences in style and even culture. Any thoughts everyone?
Thanks!

Adapting to different leadership styles can be a struggle. Sometimes just learning what those leaders want is the most advantageous method to working better together. What do they value (meeting deadlines, constant communication, respect, etc)? What type of communication do they want (email, phone, in person)? It is worth asking. I've found when trying to influence decision making, try the soft skill of feeding/hinting ideas to a leader in a manner that the idea can look like his or her own idea.
